The unlimited use of cars may cause many problems. What are those problems? In order to reduce the problems, should we discourage people to use cars?

　　The fast increase in the number of cars have brought along many related problems which are well worth our greatest attention.

　　首先，城市交通每況愈下。這里我想拿自己的親身經(jīng)歷作為例證。五年前，我從家里開車到辦公室花30分鐘。一年后，我路上要花40分鐘。兩年后，為了準(zhǔn)時到達工作崗位，我至少要提前1個小時從家里出發(fā)。之后，從去年開始，花1.5小時到達成為家常便飯。交通就像毛毛蟲一樣在蠕動!

　　First of all, urban traffic is getting from bad to worse. Id like to cite my own experience as an example. Five years ago, it took me about 30 minutes to drive from home to office. One year later, I needed to spend about 40 minutes on the way. Then two years later, I had to start out from home at least 1 hour earlier in order to get to my office on good time for work. And then, since last year, it has just been too normal for me to spend about one and half hours to make it. The traffic just moves like a worm!

　　第二點，隨著轎車數(shù)量無休止的增長，城市中的空氣質(zhì)量正日趨惡化。我們過去還能看到蔚藍的天空，呼吸到新鮮的空氣，但現(xiàn)在這成了一種奢望。汽車廢氣已經(jīng)嚴(yán)重污染了空氣，人們的身體受到了嚴(yán)重威脅。似乎已經(jīng)很明確：我們?nèi)祟愐呀?jīng)犯了一個致命的錯誤，唯一能夠彌補的便是極大地減少轎車的數(shù)量。

　　Second, with the ever growing number of cars, air quality in urban areas is deteriorating with each passing day. We used to see clear blue sky and breathe fresh air, but now this would be a real luxury. Car exhaust has seriously polluted the air and peoples health is greatly endangered. It seems certain that we human beings have already made a fatal mistake that could only be remedied by bringing down the number of cars hugely.

　　是啊，我們不能否認，轎車給我們帶來了速度、舒適和機動性。然而，這一切都已經(jīng)成為過去。我們從轎車上所蒙受的災(zāi)難要遠遠大于我們所獲得的益處。由于我們每一秒鐘都要呼吸被污染了的空氣和由于我們在汽車上必須要花費的時間日益拉長這雙重原因，我們的身體狀況正越來越糟。

　　Sure, we can not deny the fact that cars have brought us speed, comfort and greater mobility. However, these have already been history. We are suffering much more from cars than benefiting from them. Our health conditions are going down rapidly both due to the polluted air that we have to breathe every second and our lack of exercise as a result of the ever increasing amount of time we have to spend behind the wheel!

　　我們該怎么辦呢?從前面的論證中，我相信我們已經(jīng)找到了解決方案：鼓勵人們少開車!我很清楚科學(xué)技術(shù)也在快速發(fā)展，將來也許會有更好的解決辦法出現(xiàn)，但是，在這一切成為現(xiàn)實之前，讓我們先通過這種被動的方式來自救吧!

　　What can we do? From the foregoing discussion, Im sure we have already found a solution: to discourage people to use cars! I know very well that science and technology are also developing very fast and there might be better solutions coming up in the future, but, before that, lets first salvage ourselves in such a passive way!
