There is no doubt that traffic congestion becomes a growing worry for the residents of most urban areas. Some major roads are regularly choked with traffic in rush hours. The limited transport capacity contributes largely to the vexing problem. How to solve the headache?

The existing solutions to traffic jam mainly aim at creating metro bus systems and broadening major roads. Widening the existing roads can solve traffic snarls on some level. Soaring car ownership compounds the chronic annoying problem, so we must sharply reduce the heavy reliance on cars and drive a shift to the matransportation. It is a cheap and good way. We can create a system of customized bus routes and highlight the development of subways, trolleys and light rail. The effective combination of these solutions will enable the urban areas to possea smooth traffic.

現(xiàn)有的交通擁堵解決方案主要針對(duì)地鐵公交系統(tǒng)和擴(kuò)大主要道路。拓寬現(xiàn)有道路可以在一定程度上解決交通擠塞。急劇攀升的汽車擁有量是導(dǎo)致這一惱人問(wèn)題的長(zhǎng)期原因，因此我們必須大幅度減少對(duì)汽車的嚴(yán)重依賴，轉(zhuǎn)向大眾交通。這是一種既便宜又好的方法。我們可以創(chuàng)建一個(gè)定制的巴士路線系統(tǒng)，突出地鐵，電車和輕軌的發(fā)展。這些方法的有效結(jié)合將使城市地區(qū)擁有一個(gè)更順暢的交通。

With the development of economy, there are more and more vehicles on the streets. Governments at all levels have to do something to solve the problem of heavy traffic in the city.

隨著經(jīng)濟(jì)的發(fā)展，道路上的汽車越來(lái)越多了。各級(jí)政府必須做些事情來(lái)解決城市擁堵的交通問(wèn)題。

I would like to share with you some ideas about this problem: firstly, the government should build more roads. This action can decrease the degree of street congestion and make it possible for cars to run faster than ever before. But each coin has two sides. If a city builds too many roads, the streets will occupy much land. We will have little space used for other purposes. So secondly, more special bus lines for public transportation should be added. Thus people can go conveniently everywhere they like; they will not ride bikes or drive cars. In this way, the number of cars and bikes on the road will be greatly cut down.

我想與大家分享我對(duì)這個(gè)問(wèn)題的一些看法。首先，政府應(yīng)該修建更多的公路。這一舉措能夠減輕街道擁堵程度，使汽車能夠比以前跑得更快。但是，每件事都有利弊。如果一個(gè)城市修建太多的公路，過(guò)多的街道就會(huì)被占用，用作其他用途的空間就很少。其次，應(yīng)該增加更多特殊的公共交通線路。這樣一來(lái)，人們就方便行走到他們想要去的任何地方;他們就不用騎自行車或者開(kāi)車。通過(guò)這個(gè)方法，公路上汽車和自行車的數(shù)量就會(huì)大大減少。

As far as I am concerned, if we want to solve this problem, we should set up an idea of public transportation first and give a priority to this idea in our traffic work.

在我看來(lái)，如果我們想要解決這個(gè)問(wèn)題，我們就應(yīng)該首先樹(shù)立公共交通的想法，在交通上首選公共交通。

The traffic problem is one of the most serious problems in my hometown. Recently, more and more people have private car, but the roads are so narrow that we have to fight against the heavy traffic when we go out. Especially during the rush hours, cars and buses are unable to move. To make things worse, many people are killed in the traffic accidents. How miserable it is!

在我的家鄉(xiāng)交通問(wèn)題是最嚴(yán)重的問(wèn)題之一。現(xiàn)在越來(lái)越多的人擁有私家車，但道路卻是如此的'狹窄，所以我們出門的時(shí)候都必須和交通擁擠對(duì)抗。尤其是在繁忙時(shí)間段，汽車和公共汽車都動(dòng)不了。更糟的是，許多人在交通事故中喪生。那是多么悲慘的啊!

For the sake of our life and security, some measures must be taken to change the present situation. In the first place, as there are a great many cars, we should control the number of private cars and vehicles and use the public transportation more often. Secondly, the government should widen the roads and build more flyovers, so as to ease the traffic pressure and reduce the traffic accidents. In addition, the undergrounds and light rails should be constructed, so that we can have more choices when going out and do not have to worry about the traffic jams in the future.

為了我們的生命和安全起見(jiàn)，我們必須采取一些措施來(lái)改變現(xiàn)狀。首先，因?yàn)橛泻芏嘬嚕晕覀儜?yīng)該控制私家車的數(shù)量，更經(jīng)常使用公共交通工具。其次，政府應(yīng)該拓寬道路，建造更多的立交橋，以緩解交通壓力，減少交通事故的發(fā)生。此外，應(yīng)構(gòu)建地鐵和輕軌，這樣我們將來(lái)外出時(shí)可以有更多的選擇也不用不必?fù)?dān)心交通堵塞。
