中學英語中特殊量詞很多，學習時應弄清肯定與否定觀點、可數(shù)性質(zhì)、功能特點、適用句型、常見搭配和主謂語一致情況。
一、了解特殊量詞的肯定與否定觀點。
much，many，a lot （ of ），lots （ of ），plenty （ of ），a good many，many a，a large amount of，a number of，numbers of，a large quantity of，large quantities of，a variety of，varieties of，a mass of，masses of 表示許多，強調(diào)說話人帶有肯定的觀點；a few 有幾個，a little 有一點，也強調(diào)說話人帶有肯定的觀點；little 沒多少， few 沒幾個，強調(diào)說話人帶有否定的觀點。

much，a great deal of，a large amount of，a little，little 只能修飾或指代不可數(shù)名詞；many，a good many， many a，a few，few，a number of，numbers of 只能修飾或指代可數(shù)名詞；a lot （ of ）， lots （ of ）， plenty （ of ），a large quantity of，large quantities of，a variety of，varieties of，a mass of，masses of 可以修飾或指代可數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞。
There is much / a little / little fresh milk in this bottle.
這個瓶子里有許多 / 有一點 / 幾乎沒有鮮牛奶。
He isnt good at making friends， so he has few friends.
他不善于交朋友，所以他似乎沒有朋友。
A lot of English teachers are wanted in our school.

特殊量詞通常既可以用作形容詞作定語，又可用作代詞作主語或賓語，much，a lot / lots / a great deal / plenty 還可以用作副詞作程度狀語，修飾行為動詞或比較級形容詞、副詞。
Many of the students in our class have been to Beijing.
我班許多學生到過北京。

四、弄清特殊量詞的適用句型。
much，many 既可用于肯定句又可用于否定句和疑問句； a little ，a few 常用于肯定句和疑問句，little，few 學用于否定句； plenty （ of ）學用于肯定句，否定句應改為 enough ； a lot （ of ），lots （ of ），a great deal （ of ），a number of ，numbers of ，a variety of ，varieties of ，a mass of ，masses of 既可用于肯定句，又可用于否定句和疑問句。
別這么自信，恐怕我們沒有足夠的錢。
