會(huì)話 2
A:Hi, Jean. I want to spend my holiday in China. Can you tell me a place interesting to visit?
B:What about Guilin?
A:Oh. It is supposed to be very beautiful.
B: You're right. I stayed there for a whole week, I'd have stayed there longer if I had time.
A:Really? Would you tell me something about it?
A:真的?
B:With pleasure. Guilin has a history of about 2000 years. It's world famous for its oddly-shaped solitary hills rising out of flat ground in various shapes. Some look like buns, some like sawteeth, some like bamboo shoots, camels etc.
A:Could you tell me some of the famous hills there?
B:They are Duxiu Peak (Solitary Beauty Peak),Diecai Hill (Folded Brocade Hill), Fubo Hill (Ripple Hill), and Xiangbi Hill (Elephant Trunk Peak) ? Many hills have their stories. Among these hills,Duxiu peak may be the most attractive because It's located at the center of the city. Climbing to the top of it you will be rewaI'ded with a panoramic view of the city, the Li River and surrounding hills.
A:I hear that the caves are also as well known as the hills, aren't they?
B:Yes. Almost every hill has at least one cave. The best known are Seven-star Cave and Reed Flute Cave. Seven-star Rocks
A:I hear tha Guilin is not only famous for its good view of the hills, but also for its good view of the Li River.
B:You're right. The Li River is crystal clear, and no matter how deep the water is you can see the bottom—the pebbles, sand and weeds clearly.
A:Did you take a boat ride on the river?
B : That's needless to say. A visit to Guilin would not be complete without a boat trip 83km down the Li River to Yangshuo. This scenery of Li River is called “natural arts gallery” since a natural scenic wonder unfolds on both banks of the river. A trip ending in the hills around Yangshuo will inspire the phrase “Guilin has the most beautiful scenery in China, and Yangshuo is the most beautiful part of Guilin. ”
A: You really had a wonderful trip. IK definitely go to Guilin for a visit.
