三者都是在談到兩個人或東西時用的。可用作代詞、形容詞、連詞。

　　Ⅰ. 作代詞時：both “兩者都”. either “兩者中任何一個”. neither “兩者中任何一個都不”。 作主語時，謂語動詞用復數形式，可作同位語。而either 和 neither 則用單數形式，不可作同位語。如：

　　① Both of us are teachers.

　　② Either of you can do it.

　　③ Neither of the answerws is right. 兩個答案都不對。

　　④ They both skate well. 他們兩人都會滑冰。

　　Ⅱ. 作形容詞時：both 修飾名詞的復數形式。Neither 和 either修飾名詞的單數形式。如：

　　① Neither film is very long.兩部電影都不長。

　　② You may use either pencil. 你可用這兩支筆中的任何一支。
